Winfield High School graduation will be held at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. Graduates will be allotted ten guest tickets. Jostens will distribute items at the school next week. If you have not yet ordered a cap and gown, please do so as soon as possible at jostens.com.
The Winfield High School Prom scheduled for Saturday, April 17th at the Valley Park Convention Center has been canceled due to lack of student interest.
Winfield High School will have Prom at the Valley Park Community Center on April 17th. Tickets will go on sale starting April 7th and continue to April 15th, with no sales on Tuesday April 13th due to the SAT for in-person students. Tickets are $30 per ticket. Seniors will receive their ticket free. At the time you buy or receive your ticket you will sign up for a time to attend prom and a table. In-person students may purchase or pickup their ticket during the 2nd half of lunch in the auxiliary gym hallway. Prom tickets for WHS virtual juniors and seniors will be available this week on Friday April 9th from 4 to 5 pm and Tuesday April 13th from 5 to 6pm. Students will enter the school at the auxiliary gym doors to buy or pick up tickets. If your date or group that you are attending with includes in-person students, they may sign you up for your time slot and purchase or pick-up your ticket when tickets are sold the second half of lunch. Remember only juniors and seniors of Winfield High School may attend prom and that Winfield High School is required to follow the regulations set out by both the WV DHHR, Putnam County Schools, and the Valley Park Community Center.
All tickets for Boys Basketball vs Ripley Saturday 4/10/21 will be presold at school Thursday and Friday. There will be 125 tickets available. All tickets $6.00. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Winfield High School will be holding prom on April 17, 2021 at the Valley Park Convention Center. The following is information for attendees: Only juniors and seniors from Winfield High School will be allowed to attend. Masks must be worn at all times in the venue. Students will be required to sign up for a time slot to attend prom. Only 75 students will be allowed on the dance floor at one time. Dances will consist of Line Dancing type music so students can socially distance. More information will be provided upon the return from break including when tickets will be available.
Tomorrow's home game vs. Poca will be varsity only. Doors open at 6 p.m. and game starts at 7:30 p.m. Go Generals!
The WHS Student Council Backpack Buddy Food Drive has been extended until Tuesday, March 23rd! Students can earn 1 hour of community service for every 10 individual items they bring in. The winning class will be dismissed for lunch 5 minutes early one day. Virtual students may drop off at the front of the school in the designated area. They must send a picture of their donation to Mrs. Sayre through Schoology message and complete the QR code on the sign outside to receive credit for their class and community service. Needed Items: Microwave Mac and Cheese, Cup Noodles, Ramen Noodles, Dinty Moore Microwavable meals, Instant Oatmeal, Chef Boyardee microwavable cups, Nutri grain Bars, Cereal Snacks, Individual cereal servings, and Individual bag of chips. Distance Learners 9th, 10th and 11th Grades: Call the main office at 304-586-3279 to schedule your individual scheduling time. Appointments will be in person and will be 15 minutes each. Appointments will be from 10:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, March 17th – March 19th. Weather permitting: Scheduling will take place in front of the school under the breezeway. If weather does not permit: Students will need to be given the health screening prior to entering the school building and then will go to their counselor’s office for scheduling. If you are unable to attend one of these days another scheduling option will be available at a later date. We are excited to offer you this opportunity to individually schedule for your next year’s courses.
The link to change learning models for the 4th nine weeks (from in-person to virtual or from virtual to in-person) is open on Schoology. The form is available until Friday, March 12 at 3:30p.m. If you are not changing learning models for the 4th nine weeks you do not need to complete the form. If you are requesting a change, the new learning model will start on Monday, April 5th.
Putnam County Schools will now be operating on an "On-site Remote Instruction Day" due to multiple bus route closures that are weather related. Students should log in to Schoology two hours later than the normal schedule for assignments/instruction.

Attention Parents of Seniors: The FAFSA deadline is March 1 at 11:59pm. Go to fafsa.gov to apply. Also apply for the Promise Scholarship at cfwv.com and WV Invests for free community and technical college at wvinvests.org This is very important. FAFSA is required for scholarships for colleges and universities. There will be a FAFSA hotline on Tuesday, February 23 from 5-7 PM and Thursday, February 25 from 5-7 PM.
