Winfield High School will have Prom at the Valley Park Community Center on April 17th. Tickets will go on sale starting April 7th and continue to April 15th, with no sales on Tuesday April 13th due to the SAT for in-person students. Tickets are $30 per ticket. Seniors will receive their ticket free. At the time you buy or receive your ticket you will sign up for a time to attend prom and a table. In-person students may purchase or pickup their ticket during the 2nd half of lunch in the auxiliary gym hallway. Prom tickets for WHS virtual juniors and seniors will be available this week on Friday April 9th from 4 to 5 pm and Tuesday April 13th from 5 to 6pm. Students will enter the school at the auxiliary gym doors to buy or pick up tickets. If your date or group that you are attending with includes in-person students, they may sign you up for your time slot and purchase or pick-up your ticket when tickets are sold the second half of lunch. Remember only juniors and seniors of Winfield High School may attend prom and that Winfield High School is required to follow the regulations set out by both the WV DHHR, Putnam County Schools, and the Valley Park Community Center.
All tickets for Boys Basketball vs Ripley Saturday 4/10/21 will be presold at school Thursday and Friday. There will be 125 tickets available. All tickets $6.00. No tickets will be sold at the door.

The following is information for attendees: Only juniors and seniors from Winfield High School will be allowed to attend. Masks must be worn at all times in the venue. Students will be required to sign up for a time slot to attend prom. Only 75 students will be allowed on the dance floor at one time. Dances will consist of Line Dancing type music so students can socially distance. More information will be provided upon the return from break including when tickets will be available.

Distance Learners 9th, 10th and 11th Grades: Call the main office at 304-586-3279 to schedule your individual scheduling time. Appointments will be in person and will be 15 minutes each. Appointments will be from 10:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, March 17th – March 19th. Weather permitting: Scheduling will take place in front of the school under the breezeway. If weather does not permit: Students will need to be given the health screening prior to entering the school building and then will go to their counselor’s office for scheduling. If you are unable to attend one of these days another scheduling option will be available at a later date. We are excited to offer you this opportunity to individually schedule for your next year’s courses.
The link to change learning models for the 4th nine weeks (from in-person to virtual or from virtual to in-person) is open on Schoology. The form is available until Friday, March 12 at 3:30p.m. If you are not changing learning models for the 4th nine weeks you do not need to complete the form. If you are requesting a change, the new learning model will start on Monday, April 5th.
Putnam County Schools will now be operating on an "On-site Remote Instruction Day" due to multiple bus route closures that are weather related. Students should log in to Schoology two hours later than the normal schedule for assignments/instruction.

Attention Parents of Seniors: The FAFSA deadline is March 1 at 11:59pm. Go to fafsa.gov to apply. Also apply for the Promise Scholarship at cfwv.com and WV Invests for free community and technical college at wvinvests.org This is very important. Friday, February 26, 2021 will be a Faculty Senate Day rescheduled from the original date of February 19, 2021. To enable our schools to hold the February Faculty Senate meeting, students will be dismissed two hours early. All Putnam County High Schools will follow the schedule of blocks 3 and 4 in the morning and blocks 1 and 2 in the afternoon. PCS 2-HOUR DELAY 2/22/21 After receiving information this evening from the Putnam 911 Center regarding road closures and after evaluating the extent of power outages throughout Putnam County, Putnam County Schools will be operating on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Monday, February 22. Several bus routes will be unable to run tomorrow. Students will receive an excused absence if their bus does not run tomorrow. Students unable to attend school and/or complete assignments the same day due to a bus not running, lack of internet, power, or unforeseen circumstances, will be provided extended time to submit assignments once the internet or power is restored or circumstances warrant additional family support and resources. Winfield High School students who have been receiving instruction using the Distance Learning model must return first semester books to the school on Friday afternoon 12:00-3:00. Book pick-up for all students who have been receiving instruction using the Distance Learning model will be Tuesday afternoon (January 26) 12:00-3:00. Tenth and Eleventh grade Distance Learning students will be able to pick up textbooks Tuesday after taking the PSAT.
On Tuesday, January 26, Putnam County Schools will be administering the PSAT to ALL In-person and Remote 10th and 11th Grade Students. Winfield High School students need to report to the school by 8:15. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided. Please bring nonmechanical number two pencils and test approved calculators. Cell phones, Apple Watches, and laptops will not be allowed in testing rooms. Buses will be running on a regular schedule. Study guides may be picked up at the school through the remainder of the week. Tuesday, January 26 is a remote learning day for ninth and twelfth graders. All twelfth grade PCTC students will report for a normal school day.

Attention Winfield High School Parents of Students who are planning to change mode of instruction delivery model for the second semester. Visit the Winfield High School Schoology site Monday, January 4th through Friday, January 8th to fill out the Microsoft Office form to change mode of instruction. Requests made outside this window cannot be guaranteed. The change will begin on January 25th, 2021, the first day of the second semester.

FREE MEALS AVAILABLE FOR ALL PCS STUDENTS: This meal service is free of charge and available for ALL students, whether or not enrolled in the meal benefit program. Therefore, we encourage all families to take advantage of this opportunity. Daily pick-up times for meals are from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm at each school. Families will pick-up meals at their students’ home school location, curbside while remaining in the vehicle. If transportation is a problem, families may contact their home school to request meal delivery assistance.
