ATTENTION ALL SENIORS: Jostens will be closing out cap and gown orders in December. They have not given us an exact date. Seniors who have not ordered, it is imperative that you do so soon. Once the orders are closed out, Jostens will not accept deposits only. Orders will have to be paid in full. There will not be a layaway plan. Please place orders while there is still a payment plan.
Counselors will be meeting with freshman and sophomore parents on Thursday, Nov. 18 from 6 to 7 pm at Winfield High School. This meeting will cover many important details for the remainder of your high school years!

WVU- Parkersburg, a community and technical college, will be here at lunchtime on Wednesday, November 17th. Seniors who may be interested should speak to the representative. The WV Invests grant will cover tuition for this college. All seniors have applied for this important grant-- so this is a wonderful opportunity!
Attention Sophomores: The time has come to apply to be Winfield High School's representative to the Hugh O'Brien Leadership Seminar. Hoby is an amazing opportunity for sophomore students to attend a Leadership Seminar that will prepare them for a lifetime of leadership and strengthen their commitment to serving in their community. Please write a one-page essay on the characteristics of a leader and why you think you would be an excellent leader for Winfield High School. Please turn in the essay to Mrs. Morris by Friday, November 19th by noon. Winfield High School will pay for one student to represent us at the leadership seminar to be held on a West Virginia college campus the weekend of June 24-June 27th 2022. Good Luck, sophomores!!!

Nikki Snuffer, Kinship Care Liaison, with Mission West Virginia will be holding an informational and support night for Grand-families and Kinship families of Winfield High School. The support group will take place Monday, November 8th at 6:00pm in Winfield High's Commons. She will be discussing various programs and supports Mission West Virginia can provide for families parented by grandparents and other relatives other than birth parents. Refreshments will be provided.

These young men raised the money as their campaign for WHS Homecoming King 2021. The ASVAB test will be administered at the National Guard Armory in Eleanor WV, and students will be transported by the National Guard. A WHS staff member will accompany the students. The test will take place on Monday, November 15th from 9am-12 noon. If you are interested in the military-- please take this important step! Please make sure your permission slip is turned in to counselors by Friday, November 5th. Permission slips can be found on Schoology and in the main office. Must be 17 to take the exam.

Over the summer, Winfield High School Senior Isaiah Wikel graduated from Army Basic Combat Training from Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. PFC Wikel has returned to WHS for his senior year where he is a member of the Cross Country and Track teams, and is part of the WHS Future Leaders Program. Upon graduation from high school he will return to Fort Leonard Wood to complete AIT training to become a Military Police Officer in the West Virginia Army National Guard. Thank you PFC Wikel for your service to our country.
